Now to continue the information regarding back pain and blood supply to your spine, we will show which symptoms have been seen related to which blood vessels. If you have decreased blood supply to the muscles around your spine, the resultant pain will be related to exercise and muscle atrophy (weakness). If you have decreased blood supply to your vertebra, the resultant pain will be dull, constant and relate to disc degeneration. If you have decreased blood supply to your spinal nerve roots the resultant symptoms will be sciatica and radicular pain (down the leg). If you have decreased blood supply to the posterior membrane that lines the abdominal cavity the resultant pain will be lateral back pain and pain related to hip muscle activity.

Please know there may be other reasons you have these symptoms.  However, it is good to be informed of the details, especially if you are someone who has not found an answer to your problem.

The last blog on this topic will present the solution.
